Advent Venture Partners

Advent Venture Partners, the early stage technology investor, is highly commended for continuing to develop its market during 2001. Examples of investments made by the firm, which closed a GBP300 million fund early in the year, include GBP8.5 million in November to support the second round funding of Netik Holdings, a provider of e-business solutions and leading the GBP2 million second round funding for Inca Digital Printers in October (a follow on funding for Advent Venture Partners which was the sole provider of start up funding for the firm when it span out of Cambridge Consultants in 2000).

It also took part in larger funding rounds such as the $30 million fourth round financing of Celoxica Holdings plc, a supplier of products and services for the design of silicon chips, and alongside Apax Partners and others it invested in the GBP32 million third round of finance raised by RiboTargets. It also participated in the sizeable E31.25 million second round funding for Inpharmatica, an informatics driven drug discovery company, and the E40 million fourth round financing of Mircomet.
