AlpInvest hires Partners Group executive Eric Hanno as a ‘top global sourcer’

  • Formerly employed at Goldman Sachs
  • Was an associate at AlpInvest earlier in his career

AlpInvest has hired Eric Hanno as principal after he worked most recently at Partners Group as a senior vice president of the firm’s direct and primary investment team.

Hanno, 35, brings more than 12 years of experience as “a top global sourcer, dedicated to evaluating equity and secondary investment opportunities to complete transactions and promote new business,” according to a prepared statement from the firm.

Hanno, who previously worked as an associate at AlpInvest and a vice president at Goldman Sachs & Co,  reports to Marek Herchel, managing director, AlpInvest.

“We are excited to welcome Eric back to the AlpInvest team to continue growing the business,” said Jacques Chappuis, managing director and head of Carlyle Group’s Carlyle Solutions unit, which owns AlpInvest.

Before joining AlpInvest, Hanno was responsible for North American private equity fund investments, sourcing and evaluating equity and secondary investment opportunities at Partners Group. He originated more than 75 direct equity and $4 billion in secondary opportunities.

AlpInvest managed $46.4 billion as of Dec 31 as a fund-of-funds and fund manager in private equity. A spokeswoman for Partners Group said the firm is currently looking for his replacement.
