Amanda Capital turns East

Amanda Capital, a publicly-listed private equity fund-of-funds manager headquartered in Finland, has revealed plans to build a fund targeting funds in Russia and Eastern Europe. Amanda III Eastern Private Equity is aiming to raise €100m, €10m of which will be invested from the firm’s balance sheet.

Amanda’s CEO Petteri Änkilä said: “The private equity market in Russia and Eastern Europe has developed to an interesting phase where the standards for private equity investing have been created but the competition for good target companies between funds is still moderate compared for example to Western Europe. The essential factor for successful investing is to find reliable and skilful local private equity funds with whom to work with. Amanda’s personnel has followed the market and funds operating there for a long time and made investment commitments in this market. The new fund offers an excellent tool for investors to diversify their private equity portfolio to an interesting market.”
