BNP Paribas makes double FoF appointment

BNP Paribas Private Equity has two new faces on its fund of funds team in the shape of Xavier Caron, who joins as head of the team, and Jean-Marc Rivet-Fusil, who has joined as CIO.

Caron will be in charge of defining and implementing the fund of funds strategy, mandates and fund selection. In conjunction with the relevant entities of BNPP IP, he will define and support distribution of an offering suited to the requirements of the various customer segments. He will also sit on the management board with Chantal Mazzacurati (chairperson), François Petit-Jean (head of third-party private equity business development) and Patrick Perez (company secretary).

In 2005, Caron was appointed to the management doard of Crédit Agricole Asset Management (CAAM-CI – formerly CPR Private Equity), which he co-founded in 1999 and where he acted as managing director. He was previously in the private equity business at Crédit du Nord (Crédinord Développement) and began his career in 1985 as a client relationship officer at Crédit National. He has worked in private equity for almost 12 years and was one of the first to launch a PE fund of funds in 1999.

Rivet-Fusil will be in charge of coordinating the fund’s investment strategy and defining and implementing a selection and investment process in accordance with international best practice. He was head of investment at CAAM, and previously spent over 11 years at CAAM CI, Banexi Participations, Banexi Ventures Partners and Access Capital Partners, working on buy-outs / mezzanine finance, venture capital and fund of funds.
