BVCA sets up monitoring and review body

The guidelines will affect the largest buyout houses and will specify details of reporting required by the private equity firms, and their portfolio companies, as well as some specific recommendations for the BVCA.

Sir Mike Rake, chairman of BT, has accepted the BVCA’s invitation to chair the monitoring group.

This body will have five members, two from private equity and two from outside the industry, with an independent Chair, so that it will have a majority of independents.

The BVCA will also commission more research to provide further data on the performance and impact of private equity and venture capital, including an enhanced economic impact survey and an attribution analysis of the largest buyout houses returns.
