Campbell Lutyens partner Brian Chase joins BlackRock

Brian Chase, a former partner at placement agency Campbell Lutyens & Co, joined BlackRock Alternative Investors as a managing director in late December, a spokeswoman for the asset-management giant confirmed for Buyouts.

Chase reports to Nugi Jakobishvili, global head of alternative solutions for BlackRock Alternative Investors, spokeswoman Olivia Offner said. Jakobishvili reports to Mark McCombe, global head of BlackRock Alternative Investors.

The alternative solutions group manages customized portfolios of alternative investments for institutional clients. Investments can include direct, illiquid investments in equity, debt and hybrid opportunities, and allocations in BlackRock-managed funds that invest across the alternatives landscape, the website says.

Chase worked at Campbell Lutyens for more than six years, most recently as partner, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Prior to that, he was an infrastructure consultant with a number of clients, including the World Bank, his profile said. From 2006 to 2009 he was a vice president in infrastructure at Carlyle Group.

Earlier on he was an attorney at various law firms, including Morrison & Foerster, Nossaman and Weil Gotshal & Manges, his profile said.
