Candover appoints Lord Jay

Candover Investments, a UK-listed investment fund, has appointed Lord Jay of Ewelme, a former permanent under-secretary at the UK’s Foreign Office, as a non-executive director.

Michael Jay will begin his appointment from 1 January 2008.

In addition to his role as permanent under-secretary, Lord Jay was also head to the diplomatic service between 2002 and 2006, having previously served as British ambassador to France between 1996 and 2001. He was also former Prime Minister Tony Blair’s representative to the G8 summits in 2005 and 2006.

Lord Jay’s other non-exec roles have been at Associated British Foods, Credit Agricole and Valeo.
