Capstone appoints

Independent placement agent Capstone Partners has appointed Louis de Saint-Marcq to associate partner.

Based in Europe, he will be responsible for managing investor relationships and fund manager clients in Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium and Scandinavian countries.

Prior to joining Capstone, de Saint-Marcq was executive director at Goldman Sachs International in London. At Goldman, he led a team that sold global cash equities and derivative products to European institutional clients with a focus on Scandinavia and Benelux.

The firm has also opened its Shanghai office in a bid to expand into the Asian market.

The office will be led by recently recruited Sheng Lu, a former partner with Heidrick & Struggles. Before H&S, Lu was an advisor to Milestone Capital, a China-based growth capital fund. He also served three years as CFO at Onewave, an IT company financed by VC funds Intel Capital, Chengwei and Granite Venture TDF.

With over US$7bn in commitments, Capstone employs 20 professionals located in North America, Europe and now Asia.
