Carlyle grabs Sarkozy from UBS

Carlyle named on Monday Olivier Sarkozy as its co-head and managing director of its Financial Services Group.

Sarkozy joins Carlyle in April from UBS, where he is currently the Swiss bank’s joint global head of FIG, and will based in New York.

“This is a unique opportunity to work with a top tier investment firm as it establishes a new global practice,” Sarkozy said. “I will continue to work with UBS in an advisory capacity and welcome UBS’s support of Carlyle’s financial services investment efforts.”

Sarkozy has worked on numerous deals to date, including the MBNA sale to Bank of America, and ABN Amro’s divestment of LaSalle to Bank of America.
