Charterhouse Development Capital 1st close

Charterhouse Development Capital has held the first closing on its seventh fund and first since it’s independence from Credit Commercial de France, which was sold by its parent company to HSBC in July 2000. It was almost a year later that Gordon Bonnyman and his team at Charterhouse Development Capital emerged as an independent private equity firm since HSBC already boasted a considerable private equity grouping under the leadership of Chris Masterson.

The first close of Charterhouse Development Capital’s seventh fund is at euro1.4 billion and the eventual aim remains euro3 billion. Salomon Smith Barney is assisting in the fund raising process with Clifford Chance providing legal advice.
