Credit Suisse promotes David Klein to co-lead private fund group

  • Mike Murphy and Kevin Naughton are the other co-heads of the platform
  • Group has made numerous hires in past two years
  • Klein worked for private fund group since 2003

Credit Suisse promoted David Klein as a co-head of its private fund group alongside existing co-leaders Mike Murphy and Kevin Naughton, according to an internal memo seen by Buyouts.

The promotion will be effective Jan. 1, 2020, the memo said.

Klein has worked with the private fund group since 2003, and has been the group’s global head of project management since 2016, the memo said.

Over the last two years, Credit Suisse has made numerous hires to the platform, including Vice President Lauren Brants and Directors Imran Hameed, Louis Kleist, Jennifer Lu, Howard Searing, Sameer Shamsi, Sprague Von Stroh, Eric Sun and Jerome Wallace, according to the memo.

The current team has 78 professionals, the memo said. The platform has raised more than $520 billion for more than 380 funds since 1994. Last year, the group held closings on 18 funds totaling $29 billion, the memo said.
