Curzon spins-out from E-Synergy

Europe has a new cleantech firm, Curzon Park Capital, a spin-out of E-Synergy, the UK seed investor.

Curzon is chaired by Edmund Truell, founder of British mid-market firm Duke Street Capital and pension management business Pension Corporation, with directors Sam Richardson and Cédriane de Boucaud joining from E-Synergy.

De Boucaud said: “Energy and resource inefficiency continue to plague our living and corporate environment. Innovations which address these issues and deliver a material improvement to corporate profitability will always be in demand – whether the economy is growing or not We continue to seek out technologies that target these cost savings and environmental improvements. Curzon Park Capital has the funding, networks and experience to help companies bring these innovations to market.”

The firm will manage the £20m Sustainable Technology Fund (STF), a vehicle launched by E-Synergy in January 2007 to seek out UK-based entrepreneurs developing sustainable technology products and services.

Curzon has already made its first investment, backing AWS Eco Plastics in a £2.8m joint funding with Robeco Private Equity. AWS is a plastic bottle recycling operation.
