CVC cuts IG interest to 10%

CVC has reduced its stake in IG Group, the UK spread betting company that floated on the London Stock Exchange in April 2005.

CVC, which sold 35% of its shares at the time of the IPO, now owns 10% of the company, raising £68m in the latest issue.

IG’s share performance has been impressive since its floation. With an offer price of 120 pence per share, towards the end of its indicative range, it is now priced at around 180 pence. CVC took over IG in July 2003, when it acquired a 59.3% stake for £143m.
