CVC recruits US partner

UK LBO powerhouse CVC Capital Partners has appointed a new partner and US head of the financial institutions group.

Kamil Salame joins CVC from DLJ Merchant Banking Partners where he was a partner and member of the management committee and as a managing director of Credit Suisse.

As part of DLJ he managed the firm’s portfolio, which was comprised of more than 40 companies with US$12bn in assets under management.

Global FIG initiative is comprised of teams based in the USA, Europe and Asia, headed by managing partner of CVC Jonathan Feuer.

Salame is the third high-ranking recruit CVC has made since the beginning of 2009. In January, the firm appointed Larry A. Klane as senior advisor, and in early March, the firm hired ex-Vodafone COO Sir Julian Horn-Smith as senior advisor.
