Deloitte expands debt team

UK business advisory firm Deloitte has made a series of changes to its debt advisory team, bringing the total number of debt specialists to 60.

The new appointments include: Roger Esler, a corporate finance partner, who has been added to the debt team. He spent a number of years as an investment banker with SG Hambros, focusing mainly on private equity-backed companies.

John Gregson has been promoted to associate partner after joining Deloitte in 2005 from ABN AMRO. Jonathan Thompson and Chris Skinner, based in Leeds and London respectively, have been appointed to director.

Further afield, Rob Olsen will head up the Canadian debt advisory group and joins from Goldman Sachs. In Germany, Markus Feldman, formerly of DKB, and a team of three have also joined the debt team.

Head of Deloitte’s debt advisory practice in the UK, James Douglas said: “Illiquidity in the debt markets and increased regulatory pressure have created a complex and challenging environment for our clients, and we are strengthening our team in order to be able to provide them with support.”
