Doughty Hanson eyes Mariella Burani

Doughty Hanson, the private equity fund is reportedly interested in Italian luxury business, Mariella Burani Fashion Group.

According to the unsourced report in Il Sole 24 Ore, the companies had been in discussions about a possible deal for a month.

The offer, which is reported to be at €26 per share, would value the company at €800m (US$1.2bn) and would also see the private equity group launch a bid for Mariella Burani’s Antichi Pellettieri business.

Mariella Burani said in a statement that it “confirms that it recently received expression of interest from some private equity funds aimed at creating value for the group but it did not receive any binding written offer from these funds.”
