Covid-19 is wreaking havoc on public markets, but the impact on private equity is less clear. A new Covid-19 Survey from Buyouts sheds light on how GPs expect coronavirus to affect plans such as fundraising, new investments and portfolio company layoffs, among others.

PEI’s Research & Analytics team surveyed 80 institutional investors with allocations to private equity and 120 fund managers who have raised a private equity fund in excess of $100 million over the past five years. Fieldwork was carried out in March 2020.
