Duet hires CEO

London-based alternative asset management firm Duet Group has named Osman Semerci as chief executive and partner.

Duet was established in 2002 by Alain Schibl and Henry Gabay with US$10m and today manages over US$1.7bn, in a mix of 13 private equity, hedge fund and long-only funds.

AS CEO, Semerci will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the group, as well as building a structured products division – Schibl is co-chairman and focuses on hedge funds and trading, whilst co-chair takes on private equity and business development. Semerci was previously Merrill Lynch’s global head of fixed income, currencies and commodities and co-president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, global markets and investment banking.
