Eneco looks to sell commercial power supply activities

Eneco, a Dutch public utility, has contracted merchant bank Kempen to identify potential buyers for its commercial supply activities business.

Het Financieele Dagblad announced that supervisory board chairman Klass Westdijk told the newspaper that Eneco’s board of management has tasked Kempen with identifying options for the company but there are not currently discussions with potential buyers.

A sale to one or more private equity firms is understood to be Eneco’s preference.
