ETF Group, the global value-added venture capital firm, has appointed Lorcan Burke as vice president for the UK, Ireland and Nordic region. Burke will provide ETF Group with technological expertise to aid investment decisions in this region.
Burke joins ETF Group from Firstmark Communications, where he was vice president, technology and operations, responsible for product development and technology strategy, managing a team of over 100 people.
He also spent over ten years with Nortel in the UK, France and Australia. At Nortel, he managed the network strategy across all Nortel products and overseeing Nortel’s intelligent network portfolio in the Asia South Pacific market.
ETF Group has been building its team in the UK since the launch of its London office at the end of last year. So far, the company has invested in 12 UK and Nordic-based companies and has plans to increase its portfolio over the next six months.
