UK mid-market buyouts firm Langholm Capital has appointed former executive director of food for Marks & Spencer, Steven Esom as operating partner.
Prior to M&S, Esom was managing director of Waitrose.
In his new role, he will be responsible for supporting Langholm’s portfolio businesses which once included Dorset Cereals and will work with investment teams in seeking out new investment opportunities.
Esom has served on many high profile boards including John Lewis and is currently non-executive director of Carphone Warehouse and Tyrells Potato Chips.
Langholm invested in Tyrells in April 2008 and has since increased the company’s sales by 26%.
