Alinda adds Painter

Kathie Painter

has joined Alinda Capital Partners as a London-based partner. She previously was a managing director with Citigroup’s infrastructure investment banking group. New York-based Alinda raised $3 billion for its inaugural infrastructure fund in 2006, and is currently raising fund II.

Tierney joins Thomas McNerney

David Tierney has joined Thomas McNerney & Partners as an entrepreneur-in-residence. He previously was president and CEO of Valera Pharmaceuticals Inc., which was acquired by Indevus Pharmaceuticals. Minneapolis-based Thomas McNerney, a venture capital firm that invests in life science and medical technology companies, raised $375 million for a balanced stage fund in 2006.

Advent hires Patsley

Pam Patsley has joined Advent International as a Boston-based operating partner, focused on opportunities in the financial services, payments and transaction processing sectors. She has spent the past seven years with First Data Corp.

Somerville Joins CVC

Lorne Somerville has joined CVC Capital Partners as head of the firm’s telecom practice. He previously was with UBS as joint global head of telecoms and head of its European communications group.

Venrock partner named interim CEO

Steve Goldby

, a partner with Venrock, has been named interim CEO of VC-backed company Nanosys. He replaces Calvin Chow, who helped launch the company in 2001, and who retired at the beginning of the month. Nanosys has raised about $95 million in VC funding from Venrock and other investors.

Morrisroe moves to Lincoln Int’l

Alyssa Morrisroe has joined the mid-market investment bank Lincoln International as a vice president focused on the aerospace and defense markets. She previously was a vice president at Jeffries Quarterdeck.
