PLX buys Oxford for $30M

PLX Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: PLXT) has agreed to acquire Oxford Semiconductor Inc., a Milpitas, Calif.-based provider of switch and bridge silicon. The deal is valued at nearly $30 million in PLX stock and promissory notes. Oxford Semiconductor had raised more than $33 million in funding over two rounds from VantagePoint Venture Partners.

Ceterus is music to Overture’s ears

Overture Networks Inc.

, a Morrisville, N.C.-based maker of high-speed networking equipment, has acquired Ceterus Networks, a Richardson, Texas-based provider of metro Ethernet transport solutions. No financial terms were disclosed. Ceterus had raised more than $63 million from Intel Capital, Aldus Equity, Sevin Rosen Funds and Velocity Interactive Group. Overture is also venture-backed, having raised about $45 million in VC funding from Lehman Brothers Venture Partners and Intersouth Partners.
