Secure Computing acquires Securify for $15M

Secure Computing Corp.

(Nasdaq: SCUR) has agreed to acquire Securify Inc., a Cupertino, Calif.-based enterprise gateway security company. The deal is valued at about $15 million, plus an earn-out of up to another $5 million. Securify raised more than $76 million in VC funding since 1998 from Benchmark Capital, JPMorgan Partners (now managed by Panorama Capital), Spectrum Equity and Pequot Capital (managed by FirstMark Capital). Other past backers, including Mohr Davidow Ventures, U.S. Venture Partners and AltoTech Ventures, are no longer shareholders of Securify.

Cisco purchases PostPath for $215M

has agreed to buy PostPath Inc., a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of email and calendar software. The deal is valued at about $215 million. PostPath raised nearly $23 million in VC funding from Worldview Technology Partners, Matrix Partners and Jafco Ventures. The company’s $1.6 million Series A round in late 2003 came with a post-money valuation of just $2.7 million.

Adaptec acquires Aristos for $41M

Adaptec Inc.

(Nasdaq: ADPT) has agreed to acquire Aristos Logic Corp., a Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based provider of RAID storage processing solutions, for about $41 million in cash. Aristos Logic has raised about $100 million in total VC funding since its 2000 inception from JPMorgan Partners, TPG Ventures, Woodside Fund, QTV Capital, Seagate Technology, Infineon Technologies, Emulex Corp. and EMC Corp.

Pall buys GeneSystems

Pall Corp.

(NYSE: PLL) has acquired GeneSystems, a French developer of a molecular diagnostics platform. No financial terms were disclosed. GeneSystems raised about $5 million in VC funding since 2003 from CVC Enterprises, Endeavour Vision SA and XAnge Private Equity.

ATS buys Ganymed

ATS, a German family office focused on the biotech sector, has acquired a majority stake in Ganymed Pharmaceuticals AG, a Mainz, Germany-based developer of cancer antibodies. No financial terms were disclosed. Ganymed raised more than $70 million in VC funding since 2002 from VI Partners, Future Capital, Ingro Finanz, Landesbank Baden-WĂ¼rttemberg, MIG, Nextech Venture ONC Partners and Varuma.

Oracle has eyes for ClearApp

Oracle

has agreed to acquire ClearApp Inc., a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based provider of application performance management automation for portal, J2EE and SOA applications. No financial terms were disclosed. ClearApp had raised about $25 million in venture capital and venture debt from Sierra Ventures, 3i Group, Partech International and TriplePoint Capital.

Salary pays for InfoBasis

(Nasdaq: SLRY) has acquired InfoBasis Ltd., a U.K.-based provider of skills management software for about $5 million. InfoBasis raised less than $2 million in VC funding from Oxford Capital Partners.

India’s HCL buys Control Point Solutions

HCL Technologies Ltd.

, an India-based global IT services provider, has acquired Control Point Solutions Inc., a Rutherford, N.J.-based provider of telecom expense management services. The deal values Control Point at $20.8 million. Control Point has raised about $14 million in VC funding from ABS Capital Partners and JMI Equity.

Amazon acquires Shelfari

Amazon.com

has acquired Shelfari, a Seattle-based online social network for book aficionados. No financial terms were disclosed. Shelfari raised a $1 million Series A round last year from Amazon, Curious Office Partners and individual investors.
