General Atlantic promotes two

US growth equity specialist General Atlantic has promoted Adrianna Ma to managing director and Jing Hong to principal.

Based in New York, Ma is responsible for GA’s global energy and resources sector. Hong is a based in the firm’s Beijing office and focuses on investments in China.

Prior to joining GA, Ma worked as an investment banker in the mergers, acquisitions and restructuring department at Morgan Stanley. Before that, she was a project manager at Hewlett Packard. Ma is also a director of Gavilon Holdings, an agriculture and energy platform.

In 2008, Hong joined GA from Warburg Pincus, where she focused on growth investments in consumer goods, retail and financial services sectors. She was also an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company.

Founded in 1980, GA manages approximately US$14bn in capital and has over 75 investment professionals based in Greenwich, New York, Palo Alto, London, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong, Beijing, Mumbai and Sao Paulo.
