Comments – Sapa AB is to sell Autoplastics, its automotive components manufacturing division, to Gilde Investment Management, in a deal valued at SEK1220 million (£81 million.) The agreement with Gilde excludes the operations of the painting facility in Sweden, which will remain with Sapa for restructuring within the group.
The new company has been named Plastal, and the deal is expected to close as soon as EEC merger clearance is obtained. The management team that was previously in place under Sapa will continue to run the business under the leadership of the president and CEO of Plastal Group, Christer Palm.
