In the UK the firm has a team of 40 professionals dedicated solely to advising private equity work. In addition, KPMG has around 100 professionals who spend at least 50 per cent of their time on private equity. Across Europe, the firm has around 300 professionals who are dedicated or have a substantial focus on advising private equity work and recently lifted part of its London transaction team led by Maggie Morrissey into Frankfurt and Munich in order to assist in the development of that market. Deals on which KPMG advised in 2001 include the mega Messer Griesheim and Cognis deals, the CHF580 million Swissport International deal and the GBP441 million acquisition of Britax International.
