IMRF makes $200m commitment

The US public pension backed five private equity funds, two of which are managed by FirstMark Capital.

Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund has announced that it will commit up to $200 million across five private equity funds, according to a press release from the pension.

The pension committed $25 million each to two funds managed by FirstMark Capital, FirstMark Capital VI and FirstMark Capital OF IV. A further $75 million was committed to Valor Equity Partners VI, $50 million to Waud Capital Partners VI and $25 million to BPOC Fund VI.

The $54.7 billion US public pension’s recent private equity commitments have tended to target either venture capital or growth equity vehicles that focus on North America.
