Inspicio picks up Australian labs

Inspicio, an inspection and testing business acquired by global private equity firm 3i last week, has purchased two Australian laboratories for a total consideration of A$25.6m (US$22.6m).

The acquired assets are Leonora Laverton Assay Laboratory and Yilgarn Assay Laboratory, which trade collectively as Kalassy, and are based in Perth, Australia. Kalassy provides exploration and mine assaying services, specialising in precious metals, base metals and iron ore. The business has approximately 90 employees.

3i bought Inspicio for £229m at the beginning of the month.
