A French maker of medical prostheses has raised €1m from business angels and biotech entrepreneurs.

Strasbourg-based ProTip designs, develops and markets prostheses and implants using porous titanium with a special focus on ear, nose and throat applications.

This capital injection will enable the completion of an artificial larynx the company has been working on.

ProTip has raised €2m to date since its 2004 creation, the initial €1m coming in the form of grants, loans and awards, and has enjoyed support from French government innovation agency Oseo and the Alsace region.
