ISIS doubles money on Language Line sale

ISIS Equity Partners has made a 2.2x return on its £25m sale of UK telephone interpretation services Language Line. The company has been sold to its US namesake, Language Line Inc, the leading provider of the same service in America. It has apparently been tracking its UK equivalent for a number of years, although failed to bid in August 2003 when ISIS Equity Partners acquired it from fellow private equity firm ECI Partners for £7.4m in a £25m deal.

ISIS Equity Partners restructured the business and introduced operating partner Ian Williamson as chairman. Williamson said: “”ISIS recognised that the market in which Language Line operates was changing quickly. We built a team that could take advantage of massive potential volume growth in a rapidly changing environment. The sale to LLI is the right move and will allow the company to continue on its growth path.”
