PRESS RELEASE

Jolt Capital, a private equity firm specialized in growth capital investing in B2B European technology companies with global market opportunities, is announcing a second closing of 212M€ for Jolt Capital IV.

With a first closing of 101M€ achieved in July 2020, Jolt Capital IV’s strategy is the same as previous funds raised by Jolt Capital. Since its inception in 2011, Jolt Capital has targeted investments primarily in B2B markets, focusing on European growth companies with solid IP and a substantial revenue. Over the next 4 years, Jolt Capital IV will invest between 15M€ and 40M€ in about a dozen such companies. Signatory of the UNPRI since 2020, Jolt Capital IV is qualified as an “ESG fund”, under article 8 of the newly enforced Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).

“With the previous funds, Jolt Capital I, II and III, we proved our investment thesis valid and observed the strong resiliency and development of our portfolios. Our team knows how to spot, grow and take those European deeptech companies to the next level and towards successful exits. Thanks to the unique expertise of our partners, many of who have been CEOs of tech companies themselves, we belong to a very small group of investors who can really scale deeptech companies up, for example when it comes to building manufacturing plants and to opening new international markets. ” commented Jean Schmitt, Managing Partner of Jolt Capital.

This second closing of Jolt Capital IV brings Jolt Capital’s total AUM above 400M€. Most of Jolt Capital’s historical LPs had already renewed their commitment during the initial closing in July 2020. The second closing consists of mostly new high-profile institutional and sovereign investors including major life insurance companies, and large pension funds.

“We are on track to complete a final closing of Jolt Capital IV in mid- 2021 and will very soon announce our first investment with this new fund” said Jean Schmitt.
