Koenig to head RBS German lev fin

Royal Bank of Scotland has promoted Jochen Koenig to become the head of its leveraged finance team in Germany.

Koenig will be responsible for the bank’s leveraged buyout activities in Germany and European German-speaking countries. He takes over from Michael Fcking. Fcking, who is leaving the bank, headed the team for three years. Fcking joins the German office of northern European private equity investor EQT Partners on August 1.

Koenig reports to the co-heads of RBS’ leveraged finance, Euan Hamilton and Eric Mallaroni.

Koenig joined RBS as a founding member of the Frankfurt-based leveraged finance team in 1998. Since then 31 deals have been underwritten, nine of them as mandated lead arranger, committing a total of more than e2 billion. The team stands at 16 professionals
