LDC hires investment director

The private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, LDC, has appointed Tony Norwood as investment director in its Yorkshire office.

Joining from Bank of Scotland, Norwood’s will be part of the four-strong deal team that will invest the remainder of the £250m LDC has allocated investments in 2009. So far this year, the mid-market firm has completed 11 deals and committed over £115m in new equity.

Norwoord commented on his appointment and said: “Yorkshire has a strong base of well-run and successful companies and I am looking forward to working with the team and the local corporate finance community to identify and back new investment opportunities in the region.”

With offices in Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Reading and Southampton, LDC backs companies seeking £2-100m for management buyouts.
