Lehman Brothers advisory

Lehman Brothers has formed a Merchant Banking European Advisory Council comprising seven senior advisors representing seven European countries and a wide range of industries.

The advisory council will be working with Lehman’s European merchant banking team to increase deal sourcing opportunities and assist in due diligence. The merchant banking group is responsible for investing Lehman Brothers’ and third-party capital in mid-market private equity transactions in Western Europe and the US. The advisory council is expected to meet several times a year to discuss existing investments and opportunities for future deals.

Lord Baker, former British Environment Secretary, Education Secretary and Home Secretary, is chairman of the council. The rest comprise: Eric van Amerongen, executive board member of Swets & Zeitlinger; Rodolfo Bogni, former chief executive of UBS private banking and CEO of Swiss Bank Corporation in London, where he was mainly responsible for European investment banking activities; Emilio Novela, vice-chairman and CEO of Vallehermoso from 1999 to 2003, the largest real estate company in Spain;

Lorenzo Pellicioli, former CEO of Seat Pagine Gialle SpA; Prof Dr Dieter J Pommerening, vice-chairman of Felix Schoeller (world leader in specialty papers), chairman of Mobileview AG and chairman of Oncoscience AG; and Heinz Sundt, CEO and Chairman of Telekom Austria.
