Lionhead Studios, a video game developer, has been sold to Microsoft Game Studios for an undisclosed sum. The sale provides an exit for investors Add Partners, IDG Ventures Europe and Ingenious Ventures.
The consortium invested in the business in October 2004 for an undisclosed sum. Guildford-based Lionhead Studios is best known for its Fable games and the series has become one of the top-selling Xbox titles of all time. Since the original investment, Lionhead has released Fable: The Lost Chapters and two further titles, Black & White 2 and The Movies.
