Mach Sarl

Advent International has recruited Goldman Sachs to run the sales process for the disposal of Mach Sarl, the Luxembourg-based telecom company that was bought out in 2002 for €100m. Carlyle and Apax are expected to be among the firms that will submit bids for the business. Goldman has a stapled financing package on the table at 7.7x Ebitda, according to sources in the high-yield market.

Mach was acquired from MIC Systems, a subsidiary of Millicom International Cellular, and from Kinnevik. It is the world’s largest mobile and roaming clearing house, providing outsourced roaming clearing services and other billing-related outsourced services to mobile operators.

Growth in data clearance for roaming calls has been driven by the proliferation of mobile operators, by growth in the number of subscribers and increased mobile phone usage.
