MacHugh to BoS

Bank of Scotland corporate banking has appointed Nick MacHugh as director of structured finance heading the bank’s Leeds-based acquisition financing team. MacHugh takes over from John Brimelow, who was recently promoted to the bank’s Amsterdam office to manage the acquisition finance team covering The Netherlands and Belgium.

This appointment forms part of a new structure for the Bank of Scotland focusing on the northern market. The individual Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester structured finance teams, which have for some time worked closely together, will now merge to create one deal financing team led by Alastair Donald. This creates a 12-strong team that will continue to be based in the three key cities with the ability to pool experience and resources on larger deals as and when required.

Alastair Donald, director of structured finance for the north of England, said: “This new flexibility enables us to provide the Northern market with a full range of transactional expertise delivered locally and underlines our commitment to Leeds. It also recognises the increasingly complex nature and high value of the deals we are completing locally whereas not so long ago we would have lost them to London.”
