Elsewhere, Argosy Capital closed its fourth fund at $180 million, surpassing the $150 million target it had set for Argosy Investment Partners IV LP.

In terms of capital deployment, Thomson Reuters, publisher of Buyouts, tracked 22 closed LBOs between June 1 and June 15. The five with disclosed financial terms were worth a combined $2.3 billion. This brought the year-to-date total up to $16.9 billion, well above the $7.2 billion that marked this same time in 2009.

The past fortnight was paced by one of this year’s largest transactions. TPG completed its $1.3 billion acquisition of American Tire Distributors Inc., a wholesaler of tires and other automotive aftermarket products. Sellers of the Huntersville, N.C.-based company included Investcorp, Berkshire Partners LLC and Greenbriar Equity Group LLC.
