Meet the LP: Sheryl Schwartz
Sheryl Schwartz is a Managing Director at Caspian Private Equity LLC and leads its primary and secondary fund investment programs. Schwartz joined CPE in 2013.
From 2010 to April 2013, she was a Managing Director at Perseus Finance, one of three partners responsible for fundraising, sourcing, evaluating and making direct mezzanine and structured equity investments connected with leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings in lower middle market companies.
From 1988 to 2010, Schwartz worked for Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association. At TIAA-CREF she split her time between fixed income and alternative investments, where she built a diversified, global investment portfolio across an array of co-investments, mezzanine debt and funds, including private equity, emerging markets, international, venture capital, distressed debt, equity turnaround, energy and infrastructure, leveraged buyouts and timber.
Schwartz serves on the board of WAVE, a nonprofit committed to developing and advancing women in private equity and venture capital, and is on the advisory board of Palico, a company that created a secure, Web-based marketplace dedicated to the private equity industry. She is also
