MidOcean’s Bushnell Outdoor Acquires Pistol Sight Maker; Terms Undisclosed

Bushnell Outdoor Products, a portfolio company of MidOcean Partners, Tuesday agreed to acquire Millett Industries, a maker of pistol sights and scope mounting systems. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close within the next 30 days, weren’t disclosed.

Millett was founded in 1980 and is based in Huntington Beach, Calif. Its product line includes riflescopes, red dot scopes and spotting scopes for hunting and tactical use.

The deal represents Bushnell’s second acquisition in 2008 following its purchase of the assets of Simmons Outdoor Corp. from Meade Instruments in mid-June.

Overland Park, Kan.-based MidOcean, a middle market firm that manages three funds with more than $3.5 billion in commitments, bought Bushnell from Windpoint Partners last August.
