Morgan Stanley builds PE London team

Banking giant Morgan Stanley has made a double appointment in the private equity team at its London office with the additions of Jean-Philippe Barade and Alasdair Thomson joining as executive directors.

Barade joins from Permira where he was a principal focused on the consumer, retail and leisure sectors across Europe and in France across all sectors. Prior to joining Permira in 1999, he was an investment banking associate with Credit Suisse First Boston, which he joined in 1997.

Thomson was a principal at Apax Partners where he focused on investments in the specialist retail, consumer goods, leisure and healthcare industries across Europe. He was a consultant with Bain & Company from 1999 to 2001 and prior to that he spent eight years at Coats Viyella in South East Asia, South America and Europe.
