The team at the Merseyside Investment Fund’s largest fund is expanding. Its GBP40 million Venture Fund is taking on two new investments managers. Darren Gowling is joining from the Wales Innovation Fund, a GBP6 million fund where he specialised in early stage and technology investments. Simon Thelwall-Jones joins from Grant Thornton’s West Midlands office where he was head of private equity.
Both new recruits will report to fund manager Jerry Mobbs and will be responsible for evaluating and sourcing investment opportunities for the fund.
