New director at SYIF

Peter Armitage has been appointed as the investment managing director for South Yorkshire Investment Fund. Based in Rotherham and Sheffield, he will work with SYIF investment managers Nigel Feirn and Matthew Male.

Armitage was formerly a partner in the Leeds office of Apax and also Bridgepoint Capital. He is a qualified chartered accountant and has an MBA from Manchester Business School. He will focus particularly on SYIF’s equity-linked packages where the fund takes a minority stake in the business with investments ranging from £50,000 to £1m. Tony Goulbourn, chief executive of South Yorkshire Investment Fund, said:
