New Dutch venture firm launched

VC veteran Hubert Deitmers and founder of Dutch TV production company Endemol, Joop van den Ende, have joined forces to set up a new venture firm. The firm is called Van den Ende & Deitmers, in which both the founders will have a 50% interest. It will target companies in Western Europe through two funds, the Van den Ende & Deitmers Crossmedia Fund and the Van den Ende & Deitmers Crossborder Fund.

A total of €150m will be invested in approximately 20 to 25 companies over the next five years. The Crossmedia Fund will focus on investments in press, Internet, telecommunications and technology companies with ambitious growth plans. The Crossborder Fund will invest in established companies that have proven themselves in their home market and have international expansion potential.

Deitmers van den Ende met at Endemol. Deitmers worked at Atlas Ventures until 1996 when he joined Endemol, where he was responsible for the international roll out of the business.
