Listed Scandinavian fund-of-funds Amanda Capital, with eight other Finnish institutional investors, has launched Amanda III Eastern Private Equity LP, to invest in private equity funds targeting investments in Russia and Eastern Europe. The fund has reached a first close at €44.5m and a final close is imminent. Amanda Capital has made a €10m commitment to the new vehicle.
As one of its first transactions, the fund will purchase the US$12m investment commitment Amanda Capital plc has made in Russia Partners II fund. Amanda Capital currently has investments in 22 different private equity funds and indirectly in over 200 unquoted companies, mainly located in Europe.
