Credit Suisse has appointed Michael Ingelog as chief executive officer of the Nordic region.

Ingelog joins Credit Suisse from Deutsche Bank where he was managing director and head of institutional client group for the Netherlands and the Nordic region. Before Deutsche Bank, he spent six years as an executive director and head of derivative sales at UBS.

He will report to Eric Varvel, CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa and will initially be based in London before he relocates to the Nordic region. As part of his new role he will be a member of the EMEA Operating Committee.

Ingelog will be responsible for Credit Suisse’s business in the Nordic region across private banking, investment banking and asset management divisions.

Credit Suisse intends to open an office in Stockholm, Sweden by early 2010, subject to regulatory approvals.
