HQ Capital named Ulrich von Rotenhan global head of communications and investor relations. He previously worked at CNC Communications & Network Consulting.

Lovell Minnick Partners named Ronald D. Cordes a senior adviser. Cordes is co-founder and was CEO of AssetMark.

HGGC: Joining the firm are Colin Phinisey as a principal and Christopher Guinn as an executive director. HGGC also named Zachary Adams, William Spector, Patrick Malangaand Hao Qin associates.

Cyprium Partners added Charles Sweet to its advisory council. Sweet is president of IRC Consulting.

Carlyle Group: Kara Helander joined as chief diversity officer. Helander for 10 years was managing director and global head of diversity and inclusion at BlackRock.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice named Ray Conner an operating adviser. He is former vice chairman of Boeing Co and president/CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Turnspire Capital Partners named Trevor Myers an executive-in-residence. Myers is former president and CEO of Cloyes Gear and Products.

Yellow Wood Partners named Scott Kirk an operating partner. Kirk previously was chief operating officer and chief financial officer of High Ridge Brands.

Jaguar Growth Partners named Mario De Barros a principal. He’d been a director at Patria Investments.

Black Dragon Capital named Santo Cannone to its advisory board. Cannone is former chief product officer for FiServ Credit Union Solutions.

Bregal Partners: Katey Kalvelage joined as director of ecommerce. Kalvelage has more than 12 years in the digital space including managing the ecommerce business at retail brands such as BurberryLa PerlaBottega VenetaElie Tahari, and Sandro Maje Claudie Pierlot.

Argand Partners named Catherine Clancy Mandell general counsel and chief compliance officer. She had been counsel for American Express.

HQ Capital named Amy Thiessen director of business development in North America. She previously was a principal at Park Madison Partners.

Tower Arch Capital named Steve Smith vice president of business development. Smith previously co-headed North American self-reliance operations for a nonprofit.

JMP Group: The investment-banking and alternative-asset manager’s JMP Securities named Shawn Cross a managing director in its healthcare investment banking group. He had been chairman and CEO of GT Biopharma.

Genstar Capital: Jennifer Zhao joined as vice president for investor relations. Zhao was previously a vice president in the fundraising group at TPG.

Paine Schwartz Partners named Steve Bierschenk a managing director on the investment team. He previously was as a member of the global-strategy leadership team at Monsanto.

H.I.G. Capital named Matthew Kretzman a managing director responsible for capital markets and execution across the North American PE portfolio. Kretzman previously was recently a director in the credit and markets unit at KKR. In addition, Ken Park joined the capital-formation group as a principal based in Hong Kong. Park will be responsible for capital raising and investor relations in Asia and Australia. Most recently, he spent five years at Oaktree Capital in Hong Kong, covering the Asian markets for Oaktree’s private equity, credit, real estate and infrastructure products.

Ares Management: Jason Duko and Kapil Singh joined as partners and portfolio managers in the Ares Credit Group. Duko will be primarily responsible for managing U.S. bank-loan strategies, while Singh will be primarily responsible for managing U.S. high-yield-bond strategies. Duko recently served as a portfolio manager at PIMCO, while Singh was a portfolio manager in the global developed credit group at DoubleLine Capital.

Salveo Capital, an alternative investment firm focused on the legal cannabis industry, formed an advisory board. Robert Flannery will serve as an agricultural adviser, Cory Issacson will be a marketing adviser, Devin Liles will serve as an industry adviser and Thomas Mazarakis will be a portfolio adviser.

Trinity Hunt Partners named Ryan Horstman COO and chief compliance officer. The Dallas PE firm also hired Satchel Park as research director and John Martin as an associate.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

EnsembleIQ, a portfolio company of RFE Investment Partners, named Ed Several executive vice president of events and conferences. Several had been senior vice president, Americas, at Reed Exhibitions.

Varo Money, a mobile banking startup, hired Mary Ann Miller as head of fraud strategy. She previously was a senior director and fraud executive adviser for Actimize. Varo Money is backed by Warburg Pincus and TPG-backed Rise Fund.

Gemini Bioproducts, a portfolio company of BelHealth Investment Partners, appointed Dale Gordon its CEO. Gordon was previously commercial general manager at GE Healthcare Life Sciences.

Senneca, backed by Kohlberg & Co, named Robert G. Isaman president and CEO. He succeeds Jeffery Stark, who becomes chairman. Senneca is the Cincinnati maker of specialty doors and enclosures for commercial and industrial end markets.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Broadhaven Capital Partners named Kirk Wilson  a partner. He’d been a managing director at Greenhill & Co.

Sir Sandy Crombie was named chairman of LendingCrowd. Crombie is the former CEO of Standard Life. LendingCrowd, Edinburgh, Scotland, is a fintech lender.

Raymond James named Dane Leone a managing director, responsible for biotech coverage in the equity-research department. He previously covered biotech stocks at BTIG. He has also covered medical technology.

Lincoln International, a mid-market investment bank, named Sanjeev Varmaas a senior adviser. Previously, he was managing director at Teneo Capital and held senior-adviser roles at Duff & Phelps and Chanin Capital.

Zygus Capital named John Mucci a managing partner and director of public relations and communications. He’ll report to Paul Ho, founder, chairman and CEO of Zygus Capital.

Monroe Capital: Stewart Hanlon joined the technology team as a managing director in the San Francisco office. Stewart will co-lead the firm’s technology vertical alongside Mark Solovy.

Alvarez & Marsal: Michael Balistreri joined as a managing director in the corporate-finance practice in New York. He most recently was a managing director in the investment-banking division at Canaccord Genuity.And the firm appointed Paulo Mota a managing director in its global transaction advisory group in Brazil. Mota previously was a partner at KPMG in São Paulo.

Houlihan Lokey hired Roy Kabla as a managing director and global co-head of the technology, media and telecom group. The investment bank also named Vikram Pandit to its TMT Group as a director. Kabla previously was a managing director and global head of media and telecoms at Nomura. Pandit was an executive director in the investment-banking group at JPMorgan.

Yukon Partners: Elliot Lynch joined as a vice president. Lynch was previously with Shoreview Industries.

Meketa Investment Group named David Eisenberg director of consulting services and Bradley Regier director of business management. Earlier this year, the investment-consulting firm hired Rita McCusker as a senior vice president and director of client services.

Point72: Gavin O’Connor becomes COO and CFO while Mark Brubaker was named chief technology officer. O’Connor most recently was COO of Goldman Sachs’s investment management division while Brubaker had been global head of equities technology at Millennium Partners.

Goodwin named Daniel Lindsey a Hong Kong-based partner in the law firm’s PE practice.

LIMITED PARTNERS

TwinFocus, a boutique multifamily office, opened a London office. Harinder Hundle joined the firm as a managing partner and will head the office.

PROMOTIONS

Omnes promoted a number of staffers, including Frédéric Mimoun to senior director, and made several hires.

Graycliff Partners promoted Garrett Wentzell to principal and Frank Cacace to vice president. Wentzell joined Graycliff’s predecessor HSBC Capital in 2010. Cacace came on board at Graycliff in 2012.

Thoma Bravo promoted Chip Virnig to partner from principal.

Geometric Results, backed by Bain Capital Private Equity, promoted Jill Parrino to chief operating officer. She had been vice president of solutions and innovation. GRI is the Detroit independent extended-workforce-solutions provider.

Carousel Capital promoted Peter L. Clark Jr. and Alan C. Welch Jr. to partner from principal. Clark joined the firm in 2003 while Welch came on board in 2008.
