PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Burke Capital hired Greg Belanger as managing director of its technology consulting practice. Burke previously was president of Comerica Bank‘s technology and life sciences division.

Carlyle Group: Ben Schryber joined the firm last week as managing director, based in New York. Schryber will lead credit sales and business development efforts globally at Carlyle. He will report to Mark Jenkins, head of global credit, and Mike Arpey, head of investor relations. Schryber was most recently global head of credit at First Avenue Partners.

Cyprium Partners named Wes Owen a managing director at the firm’s New York office. Owen’s background includes general management roles at BMW, Amphenol and Volex.

HealthpointCapital named Mike Mogul managing director. Mogul previously was president and CEO of Blackstone-owned DJO Global.

New Enterprise Associates: Partner Scott Gottlieb was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Gottlieb, a physician, most recently served as the FDA’s deputy commissioner for medical and scientific affairs.

Great Hill Partners appointed Simon Anderson entrepreneur-in-residence. Anderson previously was CEO of DreamHost.

Harvest Global Investments: Joining are Ashley Dale as chief business development officer and chief marketing officer; Sirinda Flik as regional business development manager; Joyce Lui, as vice president for marketing and business development; Yuki Nishio as vice president, head of Japan and Korea sales; Angela Wang as vice president, business development, and Ruiqi Wang as executive director, head of China sales.

Harvest Partners SCF LP hired Chris Peyser as a senior associate. Peyser previously was a senior associate at Kelso & Co.

Hidden Harbor Capital Partners tapped Andrew Joy a principal. Joy joins HHCP from Cerberus Capital Management.

MPC Capital AG appointed David Delaire head of asset management. Delaire’s resume includes posts as director of asset management at Natural Power and chief operating officer at Greensolver.

Perella Weinberg Partners hired David Azéma as a partner in its advisory business. Azéma since 2014 had been at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as chairman of global infrastructure and vice chairman of global corporate and investment banking for Europe.

Star Mountain Capital: James McIntire, former Washington State treasurer and chairman of Washington State Investment Board, joined Star Mountain as a strategic investor and senior adviser. McIntire is also former president of the National Association of State Treasurers.

Waud Capital Partners hired Timothy J. Cremieux as vice president. Cremieux previously was a vice president at GenNx360 Capital Partners.

Z Capital Group hired Peter Coroneos as managing director and global head of corporate development. Coroneos had been managing director of the private capital group at Jefferies LLC.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Brand Networks, the Boston provider of social-media-advertising software, named Todd Taplin CEO. Taplin joined Brand Networks in 2016. Brand Networks is backed by AEA Investors.

ClickDimensions, the Atlanta provider of marketing automation and email marketing technology, hired Michael Dickerson as chief executive. Dickerson most recently was executive vice president of strategy and business development at PGi. ClickDimensions is backed by Accel-KKR.

Dental Services Group: Matt Morgan was named CEO. He had been chief operations officer. As CEO Morgan succeeds Kirby G. “Buddy” Pickle, who retired after eight years. Dental Services, a network of dental laboratories based in North America, is a portfolio company of Cressey & Co.

GIACT Systems, a portfolio company of Tritium Partners, named Teresa Biko executive vice president of client relations. Biko most recently was executive director of strategic partnerships at Chase Paymentech. GIACT provides payment-fraud-reduction solutions.

InMoment, backed by Sorenson Capital, named Andrew Joiner CEO. Joiner previously was worldwide head of HP Software’s customer-experience business. Based in Salt Lake City, InMoment is a customer-experience-intelligence platform.

QuickBase, the Cambridge, Massachusetts, low-code application-development-platform provider, appointed Mark Daoust vice president of customer success. He most recently was vice president of operations and services at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. QuickBase is backed by Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.

WaterBridge Resources, a Houston midstream development company focused on developing, acquiring and operating flowback and produced water infrastructure for oil and gas producers, named John R. Durand president and chief operating officer. Durand previously was a management-team member at Pioneer Water Management. WaterBridge is backed by Five Point Capital Partners.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Commerce Street Capital named Danielle DiMartino Booth senior economic adviser. Booth previously was senior financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

Cooley hired Ray LaSoya as a partner in its M&A practice. LaSoya previously was  chair of the private equity practice at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan.

Debevoise & Plimpton named Patricia Volhard, a private funds regulatory lawyer, as a partner for its Frankfurt and London offices. Volhard joins the law firm from Pöllath + Partners, where she was a partner in Frankfurt.

PROMOTIONS

Baird Capital: John DiGiovanni, Alex Kessel and Tom Smith were promoted to principal from vice president, while Michael Holgate was promoted to investment director from investment manager.

GMB Mezzanine Capital promoted Michael Vossen to managing director. Vossen joined the Minneapolis middle-market mezzanine firm in 2005 as an analyst.

Interstate National Corp, backed by Golden Gate Capital,  promoted Breanne Morley to president and Brian Becker to executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer. Interstate National is the Atlanta provider of vehicle finance and insurance products and services.

KarpReilly promoted Andrew Keating to partner, Rich Reuter to vice president and Drew Skolnik to senior associate. Keating first joined the consumer-focused private equity firm in 2007 while Reuter came on board in 2012, and Skolnik joined in 2014.

Madison International Realty, a provider of venture and equity capital to real estate investors, promoted Managing Directors Carey Flaherty and Derek Jacobson to co-chief investment officers. Flaherty joined the firm in 2003 and Jacobson a year later.

North Castle Partners: Jay Galluzzo was named a managing director. Galluzo, co-founder and former CEO of Flywheel Sports, had been an operating adviser.

Platte River Equity promoted Derria D. Banta to managing director. Banta joined the Denver private equity firm in 2012 as chief financial officer, a post she will retain.

Strattam Capital promoted Hilary Fleischer and Kyle Reesing to principal. Fleischer and Reesing joined the private equity firm in 2014.

Tower Three Partners promoted Philip Taub to senior associate. Taub joined the middle-market-focused private equity firm in August 2015.
