PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Antares Capital hired Vivek Mathew as managing director, head of structured products. Most recently, Mathew served as managing director, head of global primary CLO business at J.P. Morgan. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2005, he was vice president, structured finance at Deutsche Bank. Mathew will join Antares’ New York office in the second quarter of 2016.

The Boston Consulting Group hired Laila Worrell as a partner and managing director in its principal investors and private equity practice in New York. Worrell joins BCG from Accenture, where she was a managing director and led the firm’s New York metro region.

Catalyst Investors hired David Gordon as a senior associate. Gordon was formerly a private equity senior analyst with Wolfson Group.

Dundon Capital Partners launched DCP Advisors LLC, a strategic tax, business and investment advisory practice. Chuck Thompson will join the practice as managing partner. Most recently he headed the mergers and acquisitions group of KPMG LLP for Dallas and Denver. DCP Advisors will advise clients, including Dundon Capital and its portfolio companies.

Enlightenment Capital, an aerospace, defense, and government focused investment firm, hired Jason Rigoli as a partner. Rigoli most recently worked as a principal at LLR Partners, where he led the office in Washington, D.C. He was also a managing director at the Monument Capital Group.

FSN Capital hired Niclas Thiel as an investment director and Simon Larsson as an associate.

General Atlantic hired Achim Berg as an operating partner based in the firm’s Munich office. Berg was previously chief executive officer of Arvato AG, a unit of German media conglomerate Bertelsmann SE.

Hall Capital, a family-owned private investment company based in Oklahoma City, added T. Clark Akers as a member of the boards overseeing its private equity and automotive ventures. Akers will also act as an advisor to Hall Capital Partners, the private equity affiliate of Hall Capital. Akers is a managing director at FBR & Co.

Stuart Aronson has joined HIG WhiteHorse as group head of its U.S. direct lending team. Aronson is the former head of GE Capital’s Sponsor Finance Group. Also joining Whitehorse from GE are James KenefickMark Bernier and Gina Provenzale.

LeapFrog Investments, a PE firm that invests in emerging markets, named two partners to spearhead the firm’s expansion into healthcare investments. Dr. Felix Olale, who joins LeapFrog as a partner, will lead African healthcare investments. Olale was previously the chairman of the Excelsior Group, a U.S.- and Kenyan-based advisor and developer of healthcare systems. Asian healthcare investments will be led by LeapFrog partner and co-head of Asia, Michael Fernandes. Prior to joining LeapFrog, Fernandes managed Khazanah Nasional Berhad’s healthcare portfolio.

Lexington Partners opened an office in Santiago, Chile, to be led by Jose Sosa del Valle, a principal who has spearheaded Lexington’s Latin American activities for the past seven years.

Summit Partners hired Donald K. Allen as director of portfolio technology in the firm’s peak performance group. Allen joins Summit from Zulily, where he worked as director of technical operations.

Teakwood Capital said Ed Bowman has joined the firm as executive partner. He will serve as a strategic advisor to portfolio company leadership. Bowman currently serves as chairman and CEO of TRNT Holdings LLC.

Victory Park Capital hired Upacala Mapatuna as chief investment officer. Mapatuna was previously a managing director at Goldman Sachs and a member of the alternative investments and manager selection group.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

ABRA Auto Body & Glass, a portfolio company of Hellman & Friedman LLC, made four executive appointments. Barbara Ducat was named ABRA’s senior vice president of acquisition integrations; David Kuhl was appointed to chief people officer; Tony Pellegrin was named executive vice president of strategy and corporate development; and Chris Pudenz was named ABRA’s executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Hybrid Tool Solutions LLC, a portfolio company of Hastings Equity Partners, said Chris Payson was named CEO. Payson was previously EVP and president of U.S. Completions at Nine Energy Service Inc. Hybrid, based in Fort Worth, Texas, provides products and services to the oil and gas industry.

MNG Direct, a portfolio company of Insignia Capital, said that it has named Stephen Wray its CEO. Wray is the former CEO and President of Cadient. MNG also promoted Chris Wiltshire to chairman of the board.

TopSail Energy LP, a newly formed portfolio company of Tailwater Capital LLC, has named Jim Lelio CEO. Lelio was formerly a Kinder Morgan executive. Tailwater made a $100 million initial equity commitment to TopSail, which will focus on purchasing and developing refined products logistics and processing assets.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Debevoise & Plimpton has recruited former Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement attorney Julie Riewe to serve as a partner for the firm’s white collar and regulatory defense practice.

PROMOTIONS

Adams Street Partners promoted seven investment professionals to partner: Thomas Bremner, Joseph Goldrick, Doris Guo, Ross Morrison, Tobias True, Morgan Webber, and Michael Zappert. All were previously principals at Adams Street.

FSN Capital promoted Patrice Jabet and Morten Welo to partner. The firm also promoted Eskil Koffeld to investment manager and Kristoffer Stensholt Feet to associate.

NXT Capital promoted Stacia Kopplin to managing director of risk management. Prior to joining NXT in 2011, Kopplin was director of risk management at Merrill Lynch Capital.

Saban Capital Group Inc promoted Philip Han to executive vice president. Han previously served as senior vice president and chief investment officer.
